Parks and play
Michael Westley is a Play England recommended Play Designer and a Play Enabler for the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE Space). He has helped design and deliver a national training program, covering play strategy development and play design.
Enjoyment of accessible play spaces is fundamental to our design philosophy. In public parks and open spaces, schools, early years and healthcare settings, we design to respond to particular user needs.
Play is a beneficial activity for all the community to engage in, particularly children. Our designs deliver fun, health and well-being as well as providing a context for social and learning skills.
Our play design approach is collaborative, engaging users creatively, building understanding and respect for the setting.
Westley Design are advocates of ‘natural play’ and of designing the play experience to build on and enrich the existing setting wherever possible.
